Katrae Washington was born and reared in Beaufort, South Carolina. Katrae got his early start singing at Church of God in Unity under the leadership of his grandmother the late Pastor Dr. Annie Mae Allen. Here, Katrae was a lead vocalist in the Sunday School choir and the Young Adult Choir. Katrae Washington later went to college at Coastal Carolina University where he joined the Inspirational Ambassadors Gospel Choir. While in college, he joined the Door of Hope Christian Church where the pastors are Bishop Michael and Pastor Malinda Blue. Katrae, became a soloist in the choir and became one of the worship leaders. In 2014, Katrae started writing songs and in an impromptu rehearsal with college friends, the song “Lord You Saved My Life” was birthed. On March 20, 2020, the single Lord You Saved My Life was released on all digital downloads. Katrae has dedicated his life to the ministry of the Lord and lets everyone that he encounters know that the gifts and talents that God has given are not to glorify himself but to bring glory to his name.
